The American brand Herbert Sondheim dates back to 1923 (known as Sondheim-Levy until 1930) and existed until the 1960s. The suit has many interesting details: a "missing" button in the waist replaced by a hidden hook and eyelet (a place for a belt), a tailor's padding of the collar and the bottom of the jacket, hand stitching of the lining. The skirt is lined only at the upper-back. The suit is in good condition but shows signs of extensive wear.
Matched with a reproduction 1940s style hat from Major Wear, a vintage hand embroidered purse and a vintage deer brooch with a tiger's eye stone.
